Today's discussion is about ideal reading destinations, which is awesome.

Okay, this is weird, but I LOVE reading on planes. Really.
I feel I must defend myself by stating my reasons.
1. I am stuck on a plane! I can read without feeling guilty about not doing blogposts, cleaning my room, etc. Doing those things are not even an option when you are up in the air.
2. Once again, I am stuck on a plane! Probably for at least a few hours... so I can get immersed into my book!
3. A lot of times characters in books are traveling somewhere really cool, and no matter if the place is real or not, I can pretend I am heading there with them. Of course, the book earns bonus points if there are planes involved.
So, where do you like reading? (Other than at home?)
-Emily :)
Omg, YES! I mentioned reading in the car, but I totally forgot about planes - probably because I don't fly often. But I LOVE reading on planes! I read The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight mostly on a plane, which was awesome because the first part all takes place... on a plane, lol. :)

Planes are absolutely a great place to read! Also a great way to avoid conversations with creepy passengers LOL. Old follower. Happy Friday!

I love reading on planes too, unless they are landing or taking off. Then, ugg.

I enjoy reading on planes as well though in my most recent trip I was trying to keep my wriggly and overly social 3 year old from invading the personal space of the stranger sitting next to him! :)New bloglovin follower. Here's my FF post-hope you'll follow back.
ReplyDeleteLove that answer. Time spent reading on a plane = less time staring off into space or at that tiny televesion screen (if your lucky).

Nice! I can read on a plane, but usually don't. The last time was because it was a super early flight on a small plane and there weren't any lights to read by and I didn't have a booklight with me!

Very interesting concept, haha. I can totally dig plane reading. What better way to get through a several hour long flight than by transporting yourself elsewhere?
ReplyDeleteNew follower! :)
Amanda @ i solemnly swear
You're lucky you can read on planes. I've tried, but I get motion sickness. So, my favorite spot to read, besides my home, is the beach. I love reading at the beach!

Here's my Feature & Follow Friday
The last time I was on a plane I was four years old so I haven't really had the opportunity to do so. I think I would probably get sick if I tried though. I get sick any time I try to read in the car. New follower via bloglovin!

I cant read in cars, I have motion sickness, but on planes you can get lost in the books especially if your flying across the country! I read Beauty Queens during a plane ride, no complaints!

I wish I thought of your answer. Planes are the perfect place for reading - I'm a new follower.
ReplyDeleteGreat answer! I don't think it's weird at all. It's a totally guiltless experience, AND you get to marvel at humanity's genius and creativity in a multi-layered way.
ReplyDelete1) You get to fly, even though you don't have wings and you're not a bird.
2) You get to immerse yourself completely in a story that came out of someone else's brain. Thousands of words, made up in their heads and then transplanted into yours through the power of language! Black scribbles on a white page.
All of it's amazing.
